What a great, and concise list.
![]() If anyone has anything to add to the list, can you keep it to the same concise format. |

Well, three of those issues fall into my area. Unfortunately you won't like the answer because I can't reproduce any of them. It's the LNAV oscillation, config manager error and vc push buttons issue. I will try again and let you know if I was able to find something this time. |

Nice list!
Hans, if you personally cannot reproduce 3 of these issues in FSX (and those that can are in a supposed minority) then why does the ATR not have official FSX SP2 compatibility? What's holding you guys back? There is also the corrupted tooltip issue. Sorry, no time to reference properley. No need to really as the latest official word is that nothing can (and will) be done. This is an issue across a wide range of "older" add-on aircraft. Another recent and "abusive" forum post (I'm sure we all read it) just goes to show that folks are frustrated (and emotional) with the atr problems under FSX SP2. Konrad |

For me, The ATR works pretty good with SP2 (FSX), but of course the main problem that has been mentioned in many posts is that this aircraft was developed using the FS9 SDK, not the FSX SDK. There isn't a better aircraft that has been "ported" over to FSX in my opinion and the little quirks and issues are minor for my system at least. Mention has been made of a ATR built with the FSX SDK and that would be very cool if it happenend. But time will tell on that. Randy

Konrad, the reason is that the model is still done with the FS9 SDK and not with the FSX SDK. Because of that, textures are not shown in DX10 Preview Mode and so the aircraft (and product) is not fully compatible with FSX SP2. |

Hi Hans
Thanks for the explanation. Did not realise that official FSX SP2 compatibility was dependant on it working under DX10. Considering DX10 support in FSX is in essence a beta I'm not at all surprised you guys are not keen to go through the effort at this stage. In my opinion FSX will never have full DX10 support (FS11 is too close on the horizon for Aces to bother). Time will tell of course but it seems to me that the chances of an FSX SDK developed ATR are dwindling day by day as well. Perhaps the ATR will be the very first FS11 SDK developed add-on...? All the best Konrad |

To some customers FSX SP2 compatibility includes the DX10 preview and they will start throwing What this means for the ATR? Who knows... |

Hi Hans, Not to bend the course of this thread too much, but curiosity wants me to ask that in the scheme of FLIGHT1 sales and statistics, where does the ATR rank in sales and/or popularity? If that information is public. I'm asking in the sense of what the market pressure might do to get you guys to develop what we want Thanks Randy

LNAV oscillation Can everybody, who reads this and is able to reproduce the problem please give me a complete list of addons you have installed? I'm not looking for a culprit. I just want to know what I need to install to reproduce and fix this. Thanks a lot. |

My problem, Was in the seattle area, on flights from Eugene (KEUG) to Seattle (KSEA), but I have not flown that route for quite awhile. I do not have any FSX addons, except flight1 aircraft, and of course SP2 using XP Pro. Oops, I do use Vatsim so I use FSInn too, but thats it. I am not near my computer so I do not have the info on my current version of the airac, but I did upgrade it at the point that I purchased the FSX version (ATR) so that would have been a year or so ago. The LNAV problem was not intermitant for me, it happened every time I flew that route. I have had no problem on any other route (domestic USA) that I have flown. Thanks for looking in to it, Randy

Randy, the market pressure from FSX ONLY users is obviously not enough (the occasional emotional eruption, and inevitable trolling verdict, notwithstanding). If it was, clearly Flight1 would have released a brand new model by now. I stand to be corrected here but in my opinion a large part of the 'problem' is that most folk can and still do revert back to their vanilla FS9 installation if anything in FSX does not work as it should. This is especially true when it comes to the complex FMC driven airliners. Reliability, stability, functionality and useability of (aircraft) systems + skyhigh FPS in pouring rain on final to Mega Airport Heathrow wins out over anything FSX brings to the table. So these folk generally do not raise hell and demand fixes like those that only have FSX are sometimes required to do. At least that is how I imagine it being if I had invested as heavily in FS9 a few years back as I have done now for FSX. |

If it was, clearly Flight1 would have released a brand new model by now. [/QUOTE] Well, Actually I was more interested in how the ATR stacked up statistically to other Flight1 aircraft. My mention of market pressure to bend developers was more or less a joke. Like i said before, my ATR behaves fine for my FSX system and I enjoy the aircraft as much as I enjoyed it in FS9. If I understand what you mean about FS9 vs FSX, I agree. I at times wish there was not a FS9 to go back to. I am all for FSX with the problems that it has. I think that we need to look forward and support FSX, support the developers and move on. It will (and has) improve(d). I have no trouble upgrading and/or building a new system every two years or so to meet the demads of a new FS. I am all for the wave of the future and right now that is FSX. Randy

@Konrad, Randy: please discuss this topic in a new thread and let's keep this one clean of any off topic stuff. I will clean this thread from off topic posts later today. @Stephan: the VC push button issue can't be driver-related. I actually can create an effect as described by simply pressing Shift+9. But since somebody wrote that pressing Shift+9 again doesn't help, it seems to be something else. |
