This post has been created to list common Text-o-Matic problems and solutions. It will only list known issues at present, with information taken from posts within this forum. Any new information will be added as it comes to light.

[How to Download Text-o-Matic]
Please visit this website to get the latest version:

[How to Install Text-o-Matic]
Run the file obtained from the website above.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 (both 32 and 64 bit variations), it is advised for you to run the file as Administrator (right-click the mouse on the file and select Run as Administrator from the menu).

[Problems Running Text-o-Matic]

Problem 1 - You are unable to proceed through the steps for repainting your ATR because a tone sounds from your computer and you get stuck on one step.

Solution - This is usually a problem if COMDLG32.OCX  is a wrong version or incorrectly registered.

Download this file:

Unzip the COMDLG32.OCX file within the compressed folder.

If you are running 32-bit Windows, Copy it to C:\windows\system32 .

If you are running 64-bit Windows, Copy it to C:\Windows\ SysWOW64 .

Click on Start, then Run (or hold the Windows key on your keyboard between CTRL and ALT, and press R)
In the run box type: regsvr32 COMDLG32.OCX
You should get a message saying this completed successfully.

Try and run Text-o-Matic again.

Problem 2 - You get the following message during usage of Text-o-Matic:

Solution - Not all repaints by end-users are supplied with the alpha channels. As the message states, the aircraft repaint will still be ok, but not show reflections.

If you wish to have reflections on your aircraft, you can obtain the alpha channels provided with another repaint, and re-compile the repaint using Text-o-Matic, by placing the alpha channel files in the same folder as the repaint you want the reflections on. Alternatively you can obtain the alpha channel files by downloading the ATR Default Templates.  The file you are looking for inside the templates is any one of the files with an _a on the filename, such as ATRHouse_a.bmp.

Please note: To use an alpha channel fille from an existing repaint with a different repaint, you must make sure it is named the same. For example, if you download a repaint where its file is called Delta_Repaint.bmp, you need to make sure you rename the alpha channel file to Delta_Repaint_a.bmp, before loading it into Text-o-Matic.
