not 100% sure if this is the right forum, but here goes; i see the text-o-matic included with the ATR is of a different desogn to th eold version previously supplied with F1 products for FS2002 and 2004, i am using the 2002 version at the moment, as i kept getting problems with the FS9 version. will th enew version replace the present one that resides in the Flight One folder in FS9, and if so will it work with the old templates and data.

cheers

Bruce,

The new Text-o-Matic will work perfectly with any previous versions.  Think of this version more as a facelift

No need to worry, Text-o-Matic is our premium utilities and we are making sure that there will be no problems.

Best,

thanks Tom, thoiught that would be it, but checked any ways. i notice there is an option to leave out Mipmaps, so i presume you'll be able to use them if you wish as usually i have to add them manually to most of my liveries, due to FS9s inability to AA without them (this was not a problem with FS2002).

cheers

I now have the same error with the file not found (error # 53) when launching text-o-matic.  The older version I used for IK DC-9 and Meridian used to work.

(edit: just to prove the old version was OK I unarchived an older backup textomatic.exe.  The old one does work me, the new one doesn't!)

Do you get any of the screen to show when you startup?  We havent had a complaint on it, but it is not out of question that I screwed up a file in the installer.

Best,

Hi Tom;

No, I don't get a screen at all.  I launch textomatic.exe and immediately get the 53 error for the new version.  If you'd like I can list the files in the textomatic directory and do a dependancy trace.

Thanks for your help.  If I cann't get the new textomatic to work then once some user liveries come out I'll try using the old textomatic to see if it can handle ATR templates.

Flight 1,

I am just hoping that the new version of text-o-matic will be completely up to date for all versions of products purchased that use the utility be it the ATR, Meridian, Piper, 310, 421C, and Cardinal (all of which I proudly have in my hanger but the ATR which will be there tonight).

Seems when I buy one of Flight1's aircraft, the version I have always changes to either CFS2, 2002, but not the elusive 2004 version.

This causes a bit more of a headache for many when you install new paints and find that the plane is no longer in your list of aircraft. I know there are work arounds, but is it possible that Flight 1 create a link for a downloadable version of text-o-matic from their website dependant on the version of text-o-matic you need?

There are several on the website I am Payware editor of that purchase a Flight 1 aircraft that might be an older payware product, that get a version of T0M that is not the version they need. Instead of having to reinstall the former aircraft to get the version one needs, maybe Flight 1 could as stated above, have a link to ToM that they can download which version they would like.

I will be purchasing this new aircraft today when I am off work, and am hoping that the ToM that comes with it is the version I need.

I love each of the F1 aircraft I buy, but ToM is more frustrating than it is sometimes beneficial. Take as constructive criticism. Don't take that wrong, ToM is a fantastic utility...when you get the right version for your needs.

Best Regards,

SaVas

works great here, i like the oprion of making the textures in either DTX3 or 32bit, withor without mipmaps, i used DTX3 with Mipmaps as per the MS default planes and the ATR looks great.

Mike,

Are you running a virus scanner?  I think you might have had a file blocked when trying to install.  Look into your Text-o-Matic directory (FS\Flight One Software\Text-o-Matic) and checked the Aircraft Configurations sub folder.  There should be at least 4 files there.  Also check in the Data folder for at least one file.
