If you use Windows Vista and installed Flight Simulator (happens to FS9 and FSX) to "C:\Program Files" ("C:\Program Files (x86)" under Vista 64-bit) you might experience error messages when saving a configuration with the ATR configuration manager.

The reason for this behaviour is that C:\Program Files is write-protected by default, so any kind of writing to this directory or its sub-directories will not work. There are some situations though, where the Configuration Manager has to write to a sub-directory (for example after changing the aircraft interior).

There are two possible solutions:
a) do not install FS to C:\Program Files (that's the recommended solution but obviously not suitable unless you're willing to reinstall everything)

b) remove the write-protection from C:\Program Files. You can do this by right-clicking the folder in Windows Explorer and then assign full access rights to the user "Everybody". This is of course against Microsoft's security rules but nevertheless it's going to make the Configuration Manager work until the next reinstall of Flight Simulator.
