Unfortunately, I can confirm this aswell.
For me, as soon as I pressed the VNAV button, the screen went completely black and only a CTRL-ALT-DEL was the rescue.
What I did:
I took off (without entering any data into the box)
when airborne, I entered the route:
EDDM to EDDM and activated it.
Then I entered rwy 08L.
Next I went to the DEP/ARR page and tried to enter a SID for EDDM but none existed.
Next I entered an arrival - rwy 08L with a MIQ transition.
Then I went to the LEGS page and removed the disco.
Then I clicked on VNAV and wham, black screen.

Regards,

Mark

Hello,

I can confirm this crash partially. It only occurs when you switch from VNAV page 1 to page 2 while the data fields on page 1 are still empty. So to avoid this first enter all requested data on VNAV page 1 before switching to page 2.

As far as Hans and I can tell now the underlying problem comes from the DAFIF AIRAC cycle 0411 which was used for SIDs and STARs. It looks like some of this data is inconsistent in the original DAFIF release. This also results in SIDs not showing up when a runway has been selected on some airports.

Hans said that he will have a fix available for this very soon.

best regards,

Flight One ATR72-500 betatester

I have no idea what I'm doing and I was lucky to even get it in the air...but just clicking on VNAV crashes FS!

That's OK...I don't even know what VNAV does :)

OK..I've gotten the same thing.

When starting a new flight, I enter the data on the first VNAV page, then click next and presto! No more sim. And I entered ALL data on the first page.

** sigh ** Oh well - try again tomorrow I guess.

Is the airport and nav data supposed to be in an unsorted data file?

Hi All,

I've just gone through a flight and have had a very comprehensive play around with the FMC and can't get it to crash. I've had crashes with the FMC before but this time before playing with the VNAV and PROG buttons I made sure that the PERF INIT was filled in fully. I know there's a post above this where someone has tried this and received a crash but I have clicked on just about everything I can find and all seems extremely stable...

I'm currently in RNAV at FL160 from EGKK to EGPH, I started with a full fuel load and started the aircraft manually. I have VC switched on and with high textures, Cabin switched off. Night lighting on. I can click on VNAV, I then get the PERF INIT page (1/2) then click on next and go to descent page (2/2) and no crashes. I can do the same with the PROG button both 1 and 2 pages...

If anyone wants any more details then please ask specific questions and I'll do my best to answer them...

What a baby!

Cheers
Rich

Hi,

Same problem here, Set up a route in FMC, clicked next page in VNAV page and FS9 crashed...now cannot load ATR without FS9 crashing, I do have FS9 update installed. I also removed the files from the Navdata folder

Why do you all still press that button? We confirmed this problem long ago.

I'm working on it. In fact I'm just noch flying KSEA to KSFO and switched between RTE, PROG and VNAV pages multiple times - without any problems. This needs a bit more testing over here but you will be able to fully use the FMC (and ATR) very soon.

Best regards,
Hans
