This is really quite simple!
Ensure FSX is in its own folder outside of program files (mines in M:\FLIGHTSIMULATORX), I have the old boxed version for FS2004/FS9 so install that to your FSX folder, then install the FSX update, followed by SP3. Delete the ATRConfig shortcut on your desktop as this will be the old FS2004 version, replace it with the one found in the flight1 ATR 72-500 folder in FSX. Job done!! Contrary to whats been suggested here about bad support - it has always been known that FSX is to be installed outside of the programs folder!! Mick PS, I didnt even turn off my AV (Avast free btw), Firewall or anything. |

UPDATE TO ABOVE! A BIT OF HUMBLE PIE!!
I note this method creates duplicate Flight1ATR 72-500 folders? One in FSX/Simobject/Airplanes and One created in FSX/Aircraft? The one in FSX/Aircraft appears to be the old FS2004 install and textomatic adds repaints here but not in the FSX/Simobjects/Airplanes...? The FSX/Aircraft/Flight1 ATR 72-500 holds the old ATRConfig. SUPPORT? Which one do we keep? All or just the one? I tried deleting the older FSX/Aircraft/Flight1 ATR 72-500 folder but it threw my FSX into meltdown. Noticed load times greatly increased too?? |

I7-2.8Ghz Win 7 x86 Ultimate SP1 8GB Rame Nvidia Gforce GTS250 FSX Gold Edition SP2 After installation of the ATR72-500; the aircraft loads, but none of the guages or textures load. The VC cockpit is a light blue colour with all the controls ie. yoke and throttle quadrant all visible, but no guages. From external view, just a light blue coloured aircraft. Am running other add-on aircraft such as Feelthere/Wilco 737 Pilot in Command as well as Carenado Mega-Pack HD aircraft, and this works 100%. Please advise how to fix the problem. Thank you. Bruce |

Well, to make everything running I had to do even more.
When updating from my old CD-Version to SP1a I got the trouble that SP1 worked well with one exception: it did not react on the state settings "Cold and Dark" and "Ready for Boarding" as the bird always booted with running engines. Vice versa this function worked with SP1a, but I wasn't able neither to load flighplans in the FMC nor to store them. Finally I found out by looking closer into the file F1ATRB.dll (in the Gauge folder) with Notepad++ that in the SP1-version a string "Flight One Software\Flight One ATR 72-500\Flightplans" appeared which looked in SP1a like that "Flight1\Flight One ATR 72-500\Flightplans". As such folder didn't exist in my installation after the update, I produced it first in my FS-root with no avail and finally in my "[user]\documents\...". Now everything looks just fine". |

Axel |

Hello.. My issue with the F1 ATR is this. Everytime.. I select the ATR 72..FSX doesnt crash to desktop...but it immediately closes itself.. This has never happened to me until this last time ive reinstalled the F1 ATR after a Windows 7 reformatting( done by professionals).
I am using a 3 day old reformatted install of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 32bit and I am using FSX Acceleration with the Boxed/CD version of the F1 ATR with SP3(from fs9) + FSX F1 ATR SP1 installed. I have an AMD E2-3000M processor with Radeon 6380 graphics card. All my Microsoft Visual Studio c++ versions installed are x86.. which is the only type that would install without problems...and they havent given me any problems.. |

Where is your FSX installed? Did you install FSX and the ATR as an administrator? For Win 7/Vista tips and recommendations please click on the link below: |
