i had dual engine flameout in my last simu session.......

As far as i remember, with drift down speed (around 125 IAS) the descent rate was around 800 ft/min (with feathered engines) .

best regards

Hi Christian

Sounds like my last Dash sim.

Dual flameout at night glide 35nm from FL230 to land in the dark.

Good fun!!

How many sims do you do a year there. We are in every3 months.

What sort of distance plan do you have in the ATR we have a 2:1 based off altitude for the Dash.

Seeya

I guess it means that for every 7 miles you go horizontally, you would loose 1 mile vertically. I may be wrong!!

From this sink rate and ktas you'd get a glide ratio of 15.8:1, this is also a L/D ratio. It seems reasonable. The 2015 paper 'Is "Green Dot" Always the Optimum Engines-Out Glide Speed on the Airbus A320 Aircraft' suggests 17:1 for the A320ceo, so for a regional airliner with higher AR 15.8:1 sounds a bit low. Still possible though. It's definitely higher than 7:1
